Letter to Patients from Dr. Richard Loria

March 1, 2019

Dear Patients:

I write this letter to let you know that several weeks from now, I will be leaving Allergy and Asthma Associates. I have been offered and accepted a clinical faculty position at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. This position will allow me to be actively involved in teaching while seeing patients in the clinic.

Teaching has been a career objective which I have long wanted to be involved in. Taking care of patients in a university clinic is really the ideal setting in which to teach not just evidence-based medicine, but also the importance of developing a positive physician-patient relationship. I hope to pass on to the next generation of physicians some of the knowledge I have acquired by caring for you in these last 30 years of medical practice.

To those of you who have questions or concerns about continuing your care with Allergy and Asthma Associates, I wish to assure you that you are in very capable hands with Dr. Courtney Blair and Nurse Practitioner Penny Flores. In addition, the practice has recruited an experienced physician to begin working very soon. Dr. Blair will be sending out a detailed announcement momentarily.

It has been my privilege to have known each one of you, and to have participated in your care. Thank you for that opportunity. I hope for the best for you in the years to come.

Richard C. Loria, M.D
